To participate in the Ontario Hidden Gem Hunt, the following steps must be completed using the WANDRLAND App (Hunt Portal):

1. Visit the Clue Locations

Each hunt includes 3 participating local businesses where QR codes are located.

2. Scan the QR code using the WANDRLAND APP (Hunt Portal)

At each participating business, participants must scan the QR code as proof of visit.

Scanning the QR code will also reveal your next stop:

Stop 1 - Scan QR code with app, this leads to next location
Stop 2 - Scan QR code with app, this leads to next location
Stop 3 - Scan QR code with app, this leads to final location which is that months "Scenic Spot"

3. Complete the Hunt

Once you have scanned all 3 QR codes using the WANDRLAND App, you will have completed the hunt.
Click "Complete Hunt" in the app to enter into that months prize draw

4. Visit the Scenic Spot

Head to the Scenic Spot that is revealed at the last stop on the hunt for an extra bonus + completed day trip (optional but encouraged!)

5. Prize Entry

Participants who successfully complete the hunt and submit a valid entry (by clicking "Complete Hunt" within the app) will be entered into that month's prize draw.

The QR codes and hidden gems are in places that are:

- Publicly accessible – no special permissions required.
- In clear view within public spaces
- Safe to reach on foot – no climbing, swimming, or off-roading needed.
- At least twenty kilometers away from the homes, workplaces, or properties of the organizers or their families.

The hunt will not require you to go into any onsafe or private areas. During your adventures, please refrain from visiting areas such as:

- Private properties - No trespassing.
- Inside caves, mines, or tunnels or underwater.
- Near graves, cemeteries, or memorials.
- Anywhere dangerous that requires climbing, ropes, or risky stunts.
- Active construction sites.
- Industrial or hazardous waste areas.

You do not need scavenger or treasure hunt experience to participate.

- No one involved with organizing or sponsoring the hunt can participate.

- Each person must scan all 3 QR codes at different locations (there are no loop holes)

- You will not be required to exert any potentially dangerous physical activities (climbing, swimming, etc.), making it safe for families and so on.

- The locations are secure, legal to access, and placed in publicly accessible areas.

- No one’s getting insider info. Everyone’s on equal ground.

No. The hunt is open to everyone. But VIP subscribers get a head start and access to a full map within the WANDRLAND App.

While our hidden gems are in accessible locations, treasure hunting still requires some physical activity.

- Wear appropriate footwear for the general terrain and conditions.
- Bring plenty of water and snacks.
- Know your physical limits and don’t exceed them!
- Take breaks regularly, especially in hot weather.
- Protect yourself from sun exposure with sunscreen and hats.

Our hunt celebrates Ontario's history, culture, landscapes, and small businesses. Help preserve these treasures!

- Never damage or remove artifacts from historical sites.
- Respect Indigenous sacred sites and cultural areas.

- Don’t disturb locations, sites or businesses.

Contest Overview

The Ontario Hidden Gem Hunt (the “Contest”) is organized by WANDRLAND Inc. (The "Organizer" or "Sponsor"). This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.

Participating businesses are not responsible for the administration of the contest.

Eligibility

The Ontario Hidden Gem Hunt (the “Contest”) is open to individuals who:

- Are 18 years of age or older, or the age of majority in their province of residence.

- Are legal residents of Canada.

Participants must be able to legally travel to locations within Ontario to participate in the hunt.

Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Sponsor or participating businesses are excluded from winning prizes.

The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

Contest Period

The Ontario Hidden Gem Hunt runs from May 1, 2026 to September 15, 2026, with monthly hunts and prize draws.

Each monthly hunt begins on the first day of the month and ends on the last day of that month, unless otherwise stated.

Entries must be submitted before the end of each monthly hunt period to be eligible for that month’s draw.

How to Enter

Participants may enter the Contest by completing the following steps:

- Visit three participating businesses and scan the QR code located on-site.

Important: You must scan the QR code using the WANDRLAND app/Hunt Portal to successfully complete the hunt and be eligible for that month's prize.

Each completed submission that follows the above steps counts as one entry and will be entered into the monthly prize draw.

No purchase is necessary to participate.

Prizes

Each month, one winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received during that month’s hunt period.

Prizes may include, but are not limited to:

- Ontario getaway packages

- Local business gift cards

- Experience or activity prizes

- Gift bundles from participating businesses

Prize details and approximate retail values may vary each month and will be announced by the Organizer.

Prizes have no cash value unless otherwise stated and may not be transferred or exchanged.

The Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

Terms of Participation

Participants agree to follow all applicable laws and respect public and private property while participating in the hunt.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, safety, and expenses related to participating in the Contest.

Winner Selection & Skill-Testing Question

Winners will be selected through a random draw from all eligible entries received during the contest period.

Selected participants will be contacted through the contact information provided in their submission.

In accordance with Canadian contest law, winners must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question before receiving their prize.

Failure to correctly answer the question may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

If a selected entrant cannot be contacted or does not respond within 7 days, another entrant may be selected.

How Winners Are Contacted

Potential winners will be contacted through the email address or contact information provided during activation or submission.

Winners may also be announced publicly on the event’s website or social media platforms.

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during each monthly contest period.

Business Participation Disclaimer

Participating businesses are not responsible for administering the Contest.

Businesses may provide clue words but are not liable for contest operations, entries, or prize fulfillment.

Photo & Content Use

By submitting or tagging the Organizer in public domains, participants grant the Sponsor permission to:

Share submitted photos on social media, websites, and promotional materials

Use participant content for promotional purposes related to the Contest

Participants confirm that:

- The submitted photo was taken by them

- The content does not infringe on the rights of any third party

Proper credit may be given when possible.

Disqualification Conditions

Participants may be disqualified if they:

- Submit false or misleading information

- Tamper with the contest process

- Trespass on private property or break local laws while participating

- Use automated methods or fraudulent entries

- Harass businesses, staff, or other participants

The Sponsor reserves the right to remove any entry that violates these rules.

Location Safety & Access

Participants must only access locations that are publicly accessible and legal to visit.

Participants must:

- Follow all posted signage and property rules

- Respect private property

- Follow all local laws and safety guidelines

Participants must not trespass, enter restricted areas, or engage in unsafe behavior while attempting to locate hidden gems.

The Sponsor is not responsible for participant actions at any location.

General Conditions & Liability

Participants agree to follow all applicable laws and respect public and private property when participating in the hunt.

The Sponsor is not responsible for:

- Lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected submissions

- Technical issues with the app or website

- Travel-related incidents during participation

The Sponsors shall not assume any liability for lost, damaged, or misdirected prizes.

The Sponsor reserves the right to:

- Modify or cancel the Contest if necessary

- Disqualify participants who tamper with the Contest or violate these rules

- Participation in the Contest constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules.

By participating, participants agree that the Sponsor is not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in the Contest, travel to locations, or use of prizes.

Travel & Personal Responsibility

Participants are responsible for their own transportation, travel costs, and safety when participating in the hunt.

The Sponsor does not provide transportation, supervision, or safety guidance for locations visited during the Contest.

Participants assume all risks related to travel, outdoor exploration, and visiting locations during the hunt.

Location Changes & Hunt Modifications

The Sponsor reserves the right to:

- Change hidden gem locations

- Modify clues or tools given

- Cancel or adjust hunts

if necessary due to safety concerns, accessibility issues, weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.

Participants will be notified through the official app or website if changes occur.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Sponsors and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

Privacy Policy

Personal information collected during the Contest (such as name, email, and submitted content) will be used solely for:

- Administering the contest

- Contacting potential winners

- Communicating contest updates

Participant information will not be sold or shared with third parties except as necessary to administer the Contest.

The Sponsor reserves the right to interpret these rules and make final decisions regarding contest eligibility, submissions, and prize awards.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE CONTEST WEBSITE OR ANY RELATED WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

These are the official Contest Rules. The Contests are subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over the Sponsors and/or the Contests. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the Sponsors in connection with the Contests shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.

Language Discrepencies

In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
